Our Mission
To provide medical and lifesaving support for animals at risk, as the charitable arm of the Massachusetts Veterinary Medical Association.
Our Programs
Peace and LoveAnimal Control Officers across the commonwealth encounter stray animals in need every day. Our Stray Animal Program provides financial assistance for emergency care so these animals can be rehabilitated and re-homed.

Peace of MindAnimal-related emergencies can happen to anyone at any time. Our Emergency & Disaster Preparedness Programs provide materials and education for first responders that may one day save your pet's life.

Our Story
Since 2008, the MVMA Charities has protected and served the pet communities of Massachusetts through its programs. It was originally started by Massachusetts Veterinary Medical Association (MVMA) member veterinarian, Dr. Rodney Poling, and provided funds for unowned animals through the Stray Animal Fund. Over the years, we added international programs and emergency and disaster programs to round out the organization. The Mazunte Turtle Project and Project Samana have since become their own entities and our work focuses solely on Massachusetts animals in need. We continue to work with Animal Control Officers and first responders across the Commonwealth to better the lives of people and pets in need.
